Spring is here and the time for sitting on the porch with a refreshing cocktail is approaching. If you haven’t yet experienced a mint julep on a sunny day with a nice breeze on your face, there is no better time to give it a try. It’s a cocktail that requires very few ingredients and little energy and lucky for you I’m going to share with you how to make this deliciously simple drink.
Here’s what you’ll need:
4 to 5 mint leaves
2 sugar cubes (or 1/2 ounce simple syrup)
2 1/2 ounces bourbon whiskey
Garnish: mint sprig
I told you it was simple! Here are the steps you need to follow:
Place the mint leaves and sugar or simple syrup into a Julep cup, Collins glass, or double old-fashioned glass.
Muddle well to dissolve the sugar and release the oil and aroma of the mint.
Add the bourbon.
Fill the glass with crushed ice and stir well until the glass becomes frosty.
Garnish with mint and enjoy!
